Yervant

“He who is conceited cheats himself.”

A quote from my grandfather Yervant, a truly magnificent spirit in all his splendor. He came to this country in 1920 to study at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the first ever Armenian-Syrian to do so, but was unable to stay due to troubles at home. I dedicate my pursuit of life’s wonder to him, from whom I have inherited this deeply embedded ambition.

Israel: A Democracy?

The Middle East betrays itself. Before we Arabs can tackle global injustices, we must tackle ourselves. Who among us has betrayed us? Who among us has been blinded? Every nation in the world is plagued with traitors, but how can we distinguish foreign evils from evils within our own society? Everytime we defeat our foreign enemies, they find ways to turn our own against us. This means that the problem lies within our societies, within our cultures, religions, within the minds and souls of our people, which have been dissected, picked, and pulled apart.

The ideological forces that separate Syrians from Syrians, from the Great Syrian cause, of being independent, autonomous, free and sovereign, these forces of religious fanaticism, ego and anger are blinding and ignorant, and they are fueled by our enemies, enemies of moderation, liberalism, secularism, and humility.

Only secular nations should exist, that grant all individuals inalienable rights without give preference to some individuals over others. Israel exists only because its founders believe it has the right to exist as its own state even though in the modern world only nations that are non-religious should exist.

Hmm….

Netanyahu’s Idiocy

Netanyahu

I am sure the unwarranted existence of Israel as well as its continued expansion, coupled with Global Imperialism, altogether have nothing to do with instability in the Middle East, Mr. Netanyahu.

I am not here to argue with you or your Israeli patrons.

Our arguments will go nowhere seeing as how you firmly defend your right to exist, your right to defend, and your right to expand.

In my eyes, not only should you not exist as a nation-state called Israel, I think you are guilty of committing crimes against humanity, namely against Palestinians and other arabs, and also of violating the national sovereignty of other nations, from Lebanon, Syria and Iraq to Egypt, Libya and Algeria.

You forbid Palestinians from having their state. You continue funding Islamic extremists and supporting terrorists in the region in order to portray all muslims as terrorists and ultimately maintain control over the region.

All attempts at building and securing secular, liberal states in the Middle East have been corrupted by a “loose coalition” of Israeli and Western forces along with whatever other pawns they have in the world. This is fact, as seen in Iran in 1952. At the time, then Prime Minister Mossaedgh wanted to nationalize oil and place it in the hands of the Iranian people — the West intervened under the pretense that if they didn’t, communism would prevail, leading to the end of the western ideal of individual freedom and happiness.

It is pretty simple to understand what the problem is in the Middle East, Mr. Netanyahu. Clearly your hypocrisy evades you.

How is it that your nation holds ties with Saudi Arabia, one of the world’s largest exporters of religious terrorism in the world? I guess the commodity of oil here outweighs the importance of western values of social responsibility, individual freedom, and secularism.

How is it that the world’s largest concentration of oil lies in the hands of a man who wears royal garbs and orders the execution of people who violate sharia law?

Nonetheless, the Israelis will do whatever they can to justify their continued aggression against the Arab people as well as their expansion.

Just recently, I tweeted that the existence of Israel is unwarranted. As expected, I immediately received a response from an individual insinuating that I don’t love Jews (because I don’t approve of their ‘right to have a homeland called Israel’). A close friend of mine is Jewish, I said.

Judaism and Israel are two different things.  I don’t have to love one to love the other.

The only thing original is the vision I’m given you,

The melody is inspired the words come from a different room,

I let it come meditate then I’m numb,

I love being in this state feeling really dumb,

Smoke enough breathe enough keep it in my lung,

Warm it up, beat it up, treat it with my tongue,

Baby I’m a real thug these niggas fake,

Honey on my plate, let me come and get a taste.
