ZIONISM

ZIONISM

For so long Israeli politicians and media magnates, as well as their cohort lobbyists in the West, have succeeded in deeming anti-Zionism as anti-Semitic – but that time is over. I am a Semite. The Arab people are Semites. We too, like the Jews claim, descend from Abraham through Ishmael. Our cries against your crimes are for social justice – meanwhile, Israelis and zionists spread their dogmatic message to justify the onslaught of Palestinians and Israeli expansionism. Enough is enough damnit. As individuals global struggle to secure their human rights, we mustn’t forget our brothers in Palestine, in Afghanistan, in Brazil, in Turkey, in Chechnya, in Kashmir, in South Africa, Nigera, Vietnam, and such. The era of self righteousness is being confronted by a new, truer voice. Be it heard or not I am not naive. I don’t believe in a two state solution. I do not recognize a Jewish state because like every American I believe in the separation of church and state. I disapprove of the existence of Israel regardless of the reality of the holocaust because two wrongs don’t make a right. I am a Semite. I am a Jew. I am a Muslim. I am a believer. I am a child of God as all of you are and I refuse to sit passively. Palestine will be heard damnit. Syria will be saved. Fundamentalism will be squashed, from the Rush Limbaughs to the Netanyahus, dogma will be done.

I would say Obama did a splendid job

I would say Obama did a splendid job at the White House Correspondents Dinner. I always enjoy watching it every year. Honestly, every time I see Obama speak, it reaffirms my belief that he is on the right path towards justice.

On the History and Orientation of Jews

According to Sigmund Freud, in his book “Moses and Monotheism”, Moses was killed by Jews who rebelled against him. The religion, Judaism, was thus born, out of the grief and guilt felt by the group of Jews responsible for his murder.

Freud explains that years after the murder of Moses, the rebels regretted their action thus forming the concept of the Messiah as a hope for the return of Moses as the Saviour of the Israelites. Freud said that the guilt from the murder of Moses is inherited through the generations; this guilt then drives the Jews to religion to make them feel better. (from Wiki)

What does that mean for the Jewish religion and the Jewish people?

If we were to treat mere Monotheism, or the belief in One God, as the only “true” religion, what would that say about all the labels, religions, rules and customs that we observe in the community of so-called believers?

boils in the depths

who knew freedom would be such a struggle

a few given words

I can’t help that I am who I am,

A writer, a poet, an artist, a baby,

a crier who cries,

sheds tears like lies,

oh what contradiction you are —

a giant surprise!

look in his eyes,

water will form,

smiles will swarm

and turn all those leaves like a storm,

for believe me he’s tough,

tough as his faith,

difficult as can be,

almost impenetrable —

it’s a blessing he fears the Lord.
