Obama to detail groundbreaking ‘immigration overhaul’ tonight

obama

Tonight is of great importance to the immigrants of America, however tonights speech by President Obama and the subsequent policy changes and announced reforms will have far-reaching implications that extend beyond the borders of America; even beyond the confines of the immigration issue itself.

It will affect the economy certainly. In the bigger picture, this effect will likely be positive.

More importantly, this will affect the lives of human beings who have been ostracized from society and even their families. Basic human rights which they have been denied will finally be directly addressed by the President of the United States.

‘LIBERTAD’

Libertarian wave in America. Not sure if it’s a good thing. Label themselves crusaders of genuine freedoms; as does the Republican Party which takes us to war and deprives us of individual rights.

I am all for individual freedom but I don’t know if Libertarians bring anything new – they seem to echo the same message as republicans without having actual plans. All libertarians seem to do is point out the problem. They criticize. They judge. But they have no alternative – no solution – which makes me think their idea of what the problem is might be in fact wrong – which ultimately perpetuates these problems for all americans.

Rand Paul calls for low taxes and less government. He wants involvement in some conflicts abroad but not all. Well, dear Rand Paul, it seems you are part of the wrong political party because we are in involved in every country in the world precisely because of the Bush doctrine of preemption.

I am no fundamentalist by any means because I never want to feel like my beliefs are trampling on the freedom of another. I do respect self-reliance and I do acknowledge that in our world there is potential for certain people or groups to abuse the laws of nature and to use power for the wrong reasons – like starting war, protecting interests, for the sake of vanity, bigotry, greed, etc.

Rand Paul and the Republicans love portraying themselves as the harbingers of justice – the true americans – protecting individual freedom.

Why do you support the Republican Party? Why are you Islamo-phobes? Why don’t you acknowledge the flaws of anarchical-capitalism as exhibited first hand by close Bush-family ally Saudi Arabia? If you are champions of individual rights why do you discourage social liberty and promote conservative controls of human behavior?

Republicans and Libertarians love portraying Democrats as the anti-christ; as the enemies of individualism simply because they do not advocate it to such an extent that ends up violating the individual rights of others. You see dear friends, there is a huge difference between capitalism and imperialism – the latter being the product of fundamentalist-capitalism, bigotry, and fascism.

There is no perfect system, or ideology. Only God is perfect. The rest is subjective. We must deal with society with this in mind – distinguishing between true individualism and pseudo-individualism. The problem of today’s world is precisely that  – the Pseudo.

WHEN THE GRASS IS CUT

From Obama’s meeting with the Pope to Putin’s annexation of Crimea – lot has been going on this past month.

Republicans are still dishing last minute attempts to stifle Obamacare, but to their misfortune it doesn’t seem to be working.

And then there’s Kobe Bryant’s remark about the Trayvon incident which seemed to be a little pre-mature. I do think we should cut the guy some slack – it’s twitter, and we all know what the media is out to do – fan the flames. Still, I must say, Kobe’s inner-snob showed face, a trait he’s been carrying with him since the first echos of Jordan-Kobe comparisons became a topic of consideration. Anyway, it was Kobe’s remarks that drew me do some research, coming across the editorial cartoon pictured above; a blatant criticism of right-wing attempts to justify the stand-your-ground laws used to justify the tragedies like that of young Trayvon (RIP).

Let’s face it, the media in America is extremely self-interested; lot of Obama bashing and Tea Party cynicism feeding the masses – fueling boiling angers amongst conservatives.

Apparently, a young girl has requested the Pope’s assistance in preventing her father’s deportation from America. The immigration issue is as pressing as ever – being a struggling immigrant myself, I sympathize and applaud this courageous girl’s effort. God speed.

fAs for the Ukraine – Obama slipped up when he said America had no self-interest in Iraq. Perhaps America didn’t – but the Bush Administration did. That brings to light another issue I’d like to bring up – the actions of few americans should not be excused in order to preserve american exceptionalism – instead let’s be honest about our past so we can procure a better future – so we can distance ourselves from the fundamentalistic policies of the Bush era.

What the world is currently experiencing is a rebalancing of global power – meanwhile certain groups/entities are doing whatever they can to keep it unbalanced – through means of propaganda, war, intelligence operations, etc.

Where are we headed now? We have a tyrannical monarchy in Saud which we must cut ties with; an Egypt in turmoil, endangered by radicalism and foreign meddling; a Syria caught in the midst of a tug-o-war between East and West (and zionism); Palestinians blockaded and starved in Gaza; a worldwide refugee crisis; a vindictively anti-Western South America; and in culmination of all these phenomena, the ultimate consequence: a potential world war.

There is a particular ideology being challenged by the world. That is the ideology of imperialism. Once the balance of power is reestablished – once the grass is cut – the snakes will show.

Obama 2012

Al I gotta say, is f*** the lies, the rumors, and the ignorance. Voting for Obama means voting for individual liberty and a liberal foreign policy. All the other shit doesn’t matter. Romney is a liar and an arrogant politician who thrives on elitism and hypocrisy, Obama is a humble man who simply wants to enact what should be in order for America to serve not only the wealthy, but also those who are underprivileged, or simply those who don’t have the time to focus on political issues due to their careers. There’s nothing wrong with that. Vote Obama, vote truth.

I’m not sure if Obama is our savior, and I’m not sure he is going to bring us everything we want. In fact, no one can be sure of what the future holds, the only thing we can do is trust our emotions, our convictions, and consider the facts. At the end of the day, facts can be used to justify any position, which is why we have two sides to begin with, Republicans and Democrats, who are both CONVINCED they are correct because they have “facts” to support them.

It all comes down to your convictions people. Trust in your intuition, in your beliefs, in your faith, not in discursive thought, not in vanity and arrogance, and certainly not in fear of anything but God.

I support President Obama because I BELIEVE in him, I believe in his message, and I believe he is a God fearing man. I believe President Obama is the only candidate who has the potential to revitalize America and to rekindle relations between America and the rest of the world, including our enemies.

If I am wrong, I am wrong, but I believe I am not, and my beliefs come from a far away place.

It is time for Americans to understand that politics — and life, for that matter — is not about being right, or being smart, or being cool. Politics, like life, is about being honest, and honestly, President Obama is that man in my eyes.
