WHEN THE GRASS IS CUT

From Obama’s meeting with the Pope to Putin’s annexation of Crimea – lot has been going on this past month.

Republicans are still dishing last minute attempts to stifle Obamacare, but to their misfortune it doesn’t seem to be working.

And then there’s Kobe Bryant’s remark about the Trayvon incident which seemed to be a little pre-mature. I do think we should cut the guy some slack – it’s twitter, and we all know what the media is out to do – fan the flames. Still, I must say, Kobe’s inner-snob showed face, a trait he’s been carrying with him since the first echos of Jordan-Kobe comparisons became a topic of consideration. Anyway, it was Kobe’s remarks that drew me do some research, coming across the editorial cartoon pictured above; a blatant criticism of right-wing attempts to justify the stand-your-ground laws used to justify the tragedies like that of young Trayvon (RIP).

Let’s face it, the media in America is extremely self-interested; lot of Obama bashing and Tea Party cynicism feeding the masses – fueling boiling angers amongst conservatives.

Apparently, a young girl has requested the Pope’s assistance in preventing her father’s deportation from America. The immigration issue is as pressing as ever – being a struggling immigrant myself, I sympathize and applaud this courageous girl’s effort. God speed.

fAs for the Ukraine – Obama slipped up when he said America had no self-interest in Iraq. Perhaps America didn’t – but the Bush Administration did. That brings to light another issue I’d like to bring up – the actions of few americans should not be excused in order to preserve american exceptionalism – instead let’s be honest about our past so we can procure a better future – so we can distance ourselves from the fundamentalistic policies of the Bush era.

What the world is currently experiencing is a rebalancing of global power – meanwhile certain groups/entities are doing whatever they can to keep it unbalanced – through means of propaganda, war, intelligence operations, etc.

Where are we headed now? We have a tyrannical monarchy in Saud which we must cut ties with; an Egypt in turmoil, endangered by radicalism and foreign meddling; a Syria caught in the midst of a tug-o-war between East and West (and zionism); Palestinians blockaded and starved in Gaza; a worldwide refugee crisis; a vindictively anti-Western South America; and in culmination of all these phenomena, the ultimate consequence: a potential world war.

There is a particular ideology being challenged by the world. That is the ideology of imperialism. Once the balance of power is reestablished – once the grass is cut – the snakes will show.

The following are the links to the articles regarding Bill Day’s gun-rights themed editorial cartoon and the young girl’s petition to the pope respectively:

Republicanism: The Plague

Republican politicians and conservative forces are the causes of American injustice and contribute largely (if not solely) to systems of global injustice.

I love how they attack Democrats, Obama, and anything remotely liberal every chance they get. Sure, it is politics, but it isn’t classy.

Republicans are desperate to keep their hold on whatever forces of power and influence they have left in their midst.

They tried using Benghazi, and now they are using the IRS to try to portray liberals, democrats, and the Obama Administration as a corrupt coalition, as if Republicans themselves have a clean slate.

Let us not forget that till this day, Republicans are responsible for taking us to Iraq and Afghanistan all under false pretenses.

If anything, Republicans are the harborers of corruption, supporting extremist terrorist groups in the Middle East while condemning other terrorist groups who are not in their economic interest, providing aid and political power to dictatorships and kingdoms while scrutinizing others that are resistant to subservience.

Republicanism is the ideology of the modern ignorant man who is afraid to embrace reality and true philosophy. It is the religion of the fearful, the insecure, the proud, and the hypocritical. It is a tool used by individuals to justify their techniques of survival, from Rush Limbaugh, to Ann Coulter, individuals whose entire livelihoods depend on the propagation of lies. How ironic that individuals like this tout values of individualism and self reliance while simultaneously relying on falsehoods in order to generate cash.

Republicans are just a bunch of sissies looking for fame and a place to display their obsession with vanity.

I would like to educate Middle Easterners on

I would like to educate Middle Easterners on my perspective on global politics and especially the Arab World.

While this is a difficult task for a variety of reasons, I feel it is now a pressing issue that must be addressed, or else we as an Arab people may face further humiliation, indignation, oppression, and eventually, complete elimination.

I do not know exactly why it is so commonplace for Arabs to have a distorted understanding of their own homeland, but I do know that this problem exists and that it has not only caused rivets between fellow Arab brethren — it has allowed for ill-intentioned insiders and outsiders to use it to their advantage. As the age old saying goes: “divide and conquer”.

What seems to be happening in the Middle East is a perfect example of modern colonialism. The brilliance of modern colonialism is that it is easily guised as an effort to “bring nations into the community of civilized nations” by imposing democracy, or I should say pseudo-democracy.

It isn’t much different from history though, for even in the past, individuals and nations together justified invasions and occupations through religion. The Americans wiped out the indians because they were ‘savages’. Europe did the same in Africa and the Middle East, colonizing nations and exploiting their resources.

The problem in the Middle East and in most places that are under pressure from the spheres of influence of bigger nations like the U.S., China, Russia and the European continent, is that it is difficult for nations to be fully democratic because they are easily infiltrated and penetrated by insiders and outsiders trying to exploit resources. Even in modern developed democracies like America, there are forces inside and out constantly seeking to exploit America’s wealth, it’s resources, and its values. Some of these entities include major banks, oil companies, lobbyists like the NRA and AIPAC. If even America faces constant threats to its democracy, to its protection of individual rights as well as its social community, why is it so hard for arabs to understand that a black-and-white transition to arbitrary democracy is irrational, unscientific, and if anything naive.

Before democracies can flourish in countries like Syria, Egypt, etc, there must be an establishment of certain laws, absolute laws, preventing abuses of power, politically, socially, and economically.

But you see the reason why democracy itself does not exist in the Middle East is not because of socialist regimes and baathist regimes that are seeking to usurp power and control economies. In fact, the governments of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries are more inclined to do such things under the guise of “Islam”. What better way to convince people that your way of life is right then to equate failure with burning in hell eternally. This is not Islam.

Syria is the way it is precisely because of the West — not because of democracy, not because of capitalism, not because of freedom. Certain actors in the West got big heads and thought they could take advantage of other countries that have not yet reached democratic status.

Ultimately, what I am trying to get at is that Israel is the remnant of colonial ambitions in the Middle East and has perpetuated the lack of genuine democratic development by staging a two year long farce of an Arab Revolution.

If Israel didn’t exist, there would be no apartheid government in the region, and a more stable Middle East could transition to democracy.

But you see the West is too afraid to grant the Arabs the right to self determination. No, if we grant them freedom they might actually make use of their resources and become free, self-sufficient, and dignified. No, we don’t want that says England, says Corporate America. We want Kings and Pseudo-Democracies like Israel (which is really just a colonial satellite guised as a religious entity in order to garner post-holocaust sympathy), that are bent to the West’s will and that will secure economic interests — namely, oil.

So before we begin jumping to conclusions let us understand that all people deserve the right to self-determination, and the only forces in the West that recognize that are the more liberal ones, which is why I am more satisfied with Obama being president than a Mitt Romney or another George W. Bush…

All I can say is that I pray that the Arab people will forgive themselves for getting too cocky and will accept the truth so that we may live a dignified existence, free from occupation, slavery, ignorance, and hypocrisy.

God grant me this wish.

Republicans Want To Play God

Conservatives and Republicans want to live in a world where some people are happy while others are not allowed to be. They want to control your bodies, control your perceptions, control your religions, control your minds, control your taxes, control your soldiers, control your business, your bank, your government, your laws, and your soul. I believe that vehemently. Why?

Why is marijuana illegal? Why does the police force arrest people for doing drugs instead of people for selling them? Why are people told what they can and cannot do socially? If two guys want to be together let them. If somebody wants to do drugs everyday and post videos about it on youtube let them. It is called free will, you know, something God granted us. You aren’t GOD, republicans. You aren’t GOD, conservatives. Go back to your bibles and reread them before you begin preaching hypocrisy once more.
