Dear Compatriots,

It is finally time to unveil the music video, or short film, for Lavash, the single off my upcoming album. The release date for the video is officially March 20th. It will be viewable here, as a YouTube clip via the “FILM” navigation tab atop the homepage.

The complete album, The World to Come LP, is scheduled for release this coming, mid-April. It will be available for sale via iTunes & streamable via Apple Music, Spotify & TIDAL.

This will mark my debut, self-produced record.

It includes both pop, rock & hip-hop elements and incorporates eastern instrumentation. The theme draws on questions of Armenian and Arab identity within American society, but also beyond the social issues, lie the more personal struggles with love, pride, envy, competition & familial justice. This makes for the variant juxtaposition of somber & comical, uplifting tones throughout the album.

Tune in for more updates, including show dates & new merchandise. The plan is to have Lavash shirts available for sale via the website & at live shows.

I am also working on upgrading the overall website look – this will include the domain name http://www.mynameisdannyk.com. The current one will still work. Both will direct to this website.

Look-out for the video March 20th!

Bashar al-Assad Interview 2015 BBC w/ Analysis

The contradictions on behalf of Western analysts trying to rationalize their original disposition that Assad was the tyranny of the Middle East, and not for example, closer allies of the West, whom it might not be convenient to publicly expose, like Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar & the Muslim Brotherhood, in their complicity in funding terrorism, extremism & inequality in the region.

If the West intended to ask the right questions they would have asked how sure can Assad be that he has a substantial support of the Syrian population and/or diaspora?

Furthermore, their attempt to rationalize the rise of ISIS as an Assadist creation while suggesting that the West and Assad might be able to cooperate against ISIS is an inherent contradiction, a hypocrisy, which only discredits Western narratives about Middle Eastern politics even further.

It is not the duty of the West or the East to liberate the world. ISIS & terrorism from the Middle East are caused by two specific sources: Israeli fundamentalism, expansionism & colonial outposts such as the Saudi monarchy causing huge socio-economic imbalances creating a BREEDING grounds for terrorism and fanatical religious propaganda, such as Wahhabism, the essential philosophy behind all so-called muslim terrorist groups, from al Qaeda, to al Nusra & ISIS.

Remember, all of these entities need capital to survive and fight. Who is supplying them? Who is ENABLING them?

I would argue it is a coalition of two forces: the first force is more elusive because it exists in the largely free and democratic world. It is the conservative right wing. While their grip on private and public sectors remain tight, the very nature of democracy in the West forces political forces of imperial persuasions must be a little more behind the scenes. This is largely why the majority of tyrannies and injustices that exist outside of the West, have close ties with Western counties.

Terrorism and injustice cannot be prevented until their PARTICULAR roots are dissected, understood and exposed. Until then we are in a constant state of worry legitimizing these types of covert behind the scenes forms of corruption.

Israel?

Israel?

Is the two-state solution, like the entirety of the concept of a ‘Modern Israel” – a farce? Demographics, as well as rational science, as well as religion, altogether, show that Palestinians not only outnumber Jews – they are living under apartheid-like conditions; without sovereignty, dignity, and and natural human rights. The tale is that this is the Jews’ home. Even if that is true – why demand the existence of a 5000 year old zionist state? It is not only scientifically bewildering but even theologically inaccurate – according to both ancient Jewish, Islamic and Christian religious texts.

The horrors of the holocaust are now only being repeated in Palestine, which only serves to paint a new picture where the inhumane Nazi extermination plan eventually fulfilled the creation of another fascist state – Israel. The British ensured the creation of Israel, when the Jews could have merely enjoyed living as nationals in other countries, celebrating their religion – I mean, the Nazis were defeated eventually, were they not? You see, unlike the ‘concept’ of Israel, Palestine is a secular country belonging to all religions. Zionism, au contraire, is the new Nazism folks.

Choices

Sometimes our uncertainties about making certain decisions, especially about who to involve ourselves with, drive us crazy. These insecurities however are there because we do not want to undermine ourselves and at the same time, we want to be happy. Perhaps choices that are far beyond the path intended for us are those that trouble us the most. Perhaps it is those we should avoid the most. What we question is what we do not want, and what we want we shall get long as we believe in Nature’s blessing.

What is ‘GOOD’ for the M.E.?

What is GOOD for the Middle East? Think about it. Let me know what you think.
